Russ Liquid Test Teams With Mr. Lif For New Track “Land Of The Free” [Listen]

first_imgOne of the newest projects to hit the All Good Records label is The Russ Liquid Test, a dance party fusion of New Orleans funk and electro-dance grooves like no other. Spearheaded by Russ Liquid himself, the trumpeter/producer recruited some serious musicians for the project, like Andrew Block, A.J. Hall and Alvin Ford Jr. With their debut EP 1984 coming out on November 11th (pre-order here), the band is back with their second single. After the first single “Honesty” impressed with a dreamlike vibe, the new single “Land Of The Free” features the added energy of hip hop mastermind Mr. Lif. “‘Land of the Free’ was something Andrew and I put together, and we knew pretty quickly that we wanted it to be more of a Hip Hop track,” said Russ. “I was always a huge Mr. Lif fan so I reached out and we basically had a conversation about the some of the things going on socially in the USA, and things you realize when you travel abroad and are forced to see our society from an outsider’s perspective. After the conversation, Lif said he had a pretty good idea of what he wanted to say and when he sent us the verse and hook, we were floored. It was truly an honor to work with someone that I have looked up to for so long.”Listen to “Land Of The Free,” streaming below!last_img
