first_imgLast April, the inaugural Fool’s Paradise took over St. Augustine, Florida for two days of beach funk and sunshine. With Lettuce headlining both nights, the event featured diverse sets from GRiZ, Vulfpeck, The Nth Power, Break Science, Goldfish, Brasstracks, and more. Of the April Fools-inspired weekend’s highlights was the first ever Chris Robinson Soul Revue featuring George Porter Jr. (The Meters) on bass, Nikki Glaspie (Dumpstaphunk) on drums, Ivan Neville (Dumpstaphunk) on keys, Eric Krasno (Lettuce/Soulive) on guitar, Neal Casal (Chris Robinson Brotherhood) on guitar, and The Shady Horns (Ryan Zoidis & Eric Bloom) on sax and trumpet, plus special guest Cory Henry (Snarky Puppy) on keys.The all-star lineup was a real treat, as they powered through soulful covers of Allen Toussaint, Otis Redding, Joe Cocker, and so many other classics, with the crowd singing along and vibing out to the familiar tunes.
